Unimedica Gis1000/1100 — fluorescence scanning analysis system.
FirsTeckBio distributes the Unimedica Gis1000/1100 fluorescence scanning analysis system — combining fluorescent microscopic imaging with advanced image processing and AI interpretation. Its primary clinical application is measuring the sperm DNA fragmentation index (DFI), a key biomarker in male reproductive diagnostics.
Technology
Fluorescent staining and automated microscopic scanning with AI-assisted interpretation.
- Fluorescence imaging: Established fluorescent staining combined with automated microscopic scanning and counting.
- AI interpretation: Automated AI reading for fast, objective and reproducible results.
- Standardised workflow: Reduces manual reading variability with a straightforward, repeatable protocol.
Application — Sperm DNA Fragmentation
The system scans stained sperm and reports the DNA fragmentation index (DFI) for male reproductive workups.
- DFI measurement: Quantifies the proportion of sperm with fragmented DNA across the scanned population.
- Clinical interpretation: Published references grade integrity as good (DFI ≤ 15%), moderate (15–30%) and poor (≥ 30%).
- Fertility relevance: Elevated DFI is associated with reduced fertilisation, poorer embryo development and higher miscarriage risk.
